1.
ARE THE CHEMICALS THAT YOU USE DANGEROUS?
A.
If you are an insect yes, if you are a mammal, bird or reptile the short answer is no, however, it is like anything in this world, there are people who will tell you that everything will harm you. Put bluntly, if you drink the concentrate straight out of my chemical drums then you will probably get sick but as the sprays are mixed with water and applied as a surface spray, once dried there is no reason why you should be affected by the product based on current scientific evidence and 10 years previous experience using this chemical. We use man made products which are based on the natural products and are the best available. We have the latest equipment and take every precaution when it comes to the safety of your family and pets.
2.
HOW SAFE ARE MY PETS? A.Pets like cats and dogs have no problems but we recommend that birds, fish or any other fragile pets be covered up or removed during treatment. This is mainly so we don’t scare them with noisy equipment etc. We have had no reports of adverse reactions from any pets after our treatments are complete.
3.
HOW BAD ARE TERMITES IN ALICE SPRINGS? A.
Very bad. We strongly recommend a termite inspection every 6 to 12 months and the installation of the Green Termite bait/monitors for added protection.
4.
HOW GOOD ARE THE GREEN BAITS COMPARED TO OTHER BAITS I’VE SEEN? A.
We are confident in saying that the Green baits are the most cost effective value for money baits on the market. We encourage a comparison quote with other baits on the market.
5.
HOW LONG DO TREATMENTS LAST?
A.
How long is a piece of string? It depends on many factors such as weather, if you hose areas down, wind and cleaning. In most cases (in protected areas) the spray products will last around 12 months. We offer a 12 month warranty inside and out on spiders, large cockroaches and native ants inside. Please understand, we don’t put a dome over your house where nothing gets in for 12 months, but the insects will die once they come in contact with the treated areas.
6.
ARE THE MICE BAITS DANGEROUS TO ME OR MY PETS? A.
Not unless you eat loads of them. They are designed for mice size bodies, not big people. As far as dogs go, there is no transfer effect from a dog eating a dead mouse that ate the poison. That said, we have had puppies who managed to find some bait after an owner moved them from where we put them and the end result was the pup poohed blue for a day and was fine after that. In most cases we will place the baits in the roof space out of harms way or will place them in secure places that are not accessed by children and pets. (Pitty I couldn’t put the owner who moved the baits somewhere safe).
7.
DO THE SPRAYS SMELL AND DO I HAVE TO EMPTY MY CUPBOARDS? A.The answer would be no in both cases as both our internal and external products are marketed as no odour. Tick sprays outside have a slight odour until it dries which usually takes around ½ an hour.
8.
DO THE SPRAYS STAIN? A.
If applied correctly the answer is no. In Alice Springs we have a lot of red dust which sticks to the walls etc. sometimes when the spray is applied by an inexperienced operator too heavily; it causes the spray to run. This then picks up the dust and causes streaks. This is mainly obvious around windows. There is a fine balance between applying enough spray to do the job and over spraying. The windows are a common entry point for pests. We therefore make sure that there is enough spray around these areas. This may result in some streaking so if this bothers you then you may want to clean the windows prior to us coming to eliminate the red dust .
